If Israel goes down, we all go down by José María Aznar
José María Aznar was the Prime Minister of Spain from 1996-2004. He has recently written a very important piece called “If Israel goes down, we all go down” and has announced the new initiative called “Friends of Israel”, with some powerful people, including David Trimble, Andrew Roberts, John Bolton, Alejandro Toledo (the former President of Peru), Marcello Pera (philosopher and former President of the Italian Senate), Fiamma Nirenstein (the Italian author and politician), the financier Robert Agostinelli and the Catholic intellectual George Weigel.
Mr. Aznar’s article argues that the West must support Israel because of it’s values, and because it is an important member of “the West”.
